Salvatore Seminara is a guitarist involved in multifarious musical activities as a concert artist, composer, teacher, and organizer of musical events. This intense artistic activity has taken him from Italy, to Albania, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Spain Switzerland, Turkey and Hungary — countries in which he has performed in prestigious music festivals. He also has given master classes, and has been a member of juries in international guitar competitions. His musical expertise has matured through the solo repertoire and participation in a number of chamber ensembles. As well as performing with diverse guitar ensembles, Seminara has performed in duo with other instruments (violin, cello and flute) and in string quartets (included the String Quartet of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra). He has worked with different Italian orchestras on numerous occasions including radio and television broadcasts: RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra, Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento. He is founder and artistic director of the Ossola Guitar Festival (2019 – XXIII edition).
Salvatore Seminara trained under Ruggero Chiesa at his prestigious department at the Milan Conservatory where he completed his musical studies. Paolo Cherici, David Russell, and Alirio Diaz also contributed to his formation. Seminara’s concert activity began during his years at the Conservatory, a period in which he won numerous national and international competitions and scholarships. Like composer, his works are published for DUX (Germany) and Les Productions d’Oz (Canada).
